NEWTON, N.C. (WHKY) – A woman was arrested by the Newton Police Department on felony and misdemeanor charges Wednesday (July 29).

Ashley Nichole Ayer, of Fye Drive in Newton, was charged with two counts of felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, first-degree trespass, injury to personal property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ayer was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $5,000 bond. She had a Thursday (July 30) District Court date scheduled.
