Catawba County Residents Among 21 Indicted In Drug Operation

A 16 month-long undercover operation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office narcotic division has led to indictments of 21 people including two Catawba County residents. Investigators were targeting street level dealers.

This weeks’s Lincoln County Grand Jury returned 64 charges for the narcotics violations. During the operation officers seized methamphetamine, heroin, opioids and marijuana. Two firearms were seized from convicted felons during the operation.
Charges range from possession with intent to sell and deliver to the sale, delivery and trafficking in narcotics.

Narcotics officers received a number of tips on the Drug Tip Line at 704-736-8606 and complaints from citizens to help identify the street level dealers. The following is a list of individuals indicted by the Lincoln County Grand Jury.

34-year-old Jason Todd Mullen of Maiden was indicted on charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a felon. 48-year-old Eric Theodore Flynn of Newton was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Also arrested in this case are 36-year-old Teresa Leann Riffle of Lincolnton. She’s charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 45-year-old Tiffany Goins Curtis of Crouse is charged with possession of methamphetamine. 50-year-old Tina Maria Goodwin of Vale is charged with possession of methamphetamine.

37-year-old Melissa Dawn Campbell of Cherryille is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. 36-year-old Colby Ray Williams of Lincolnton is charged with possession of methamphetamine. 44-year-old Lisa Shawntae Black of Lincolnton is charged with possession of methamphetamine.

21-year-old Daniel Steven Helms of Cherryville, NC is charged with possession of heroin. 47-year-old Joseph William Clippard of Lincolnton is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 23-year-old Patrick Tyler Blackwell of Charlotte is charged with possession of methamphetamine. 30-year-old Chelsea Leigh Allen of Denver, NC, is charged with possession of methamphetamine.

39-year-old Joseph Lee Waters of Dallas, NC, is charged with possession of LSD and possession of a firearm by a felon. 49-year-old Bryan Thomas Bailey, who has no listed address, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. 47-year-old Michael Welborn of Kings Mountain is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

41-year-old Clarence Riffle of Lincolnton is charged with possession of methamphetamine. 27-year-old Megan Renee Pilkington of Lincolnton is charged with possession of heroin. 48-year-old Craig Gerard Kempinski of Lincolnton is charged with three separate offenses. An incident on January 14, 2020 led to charges of trafficking by possession, by sale and by delivery, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell and deliver Xanax and sell and delivery of Xanax. On February 14, 2020 Kempinski was charged with trafficking by possession, by sale and by delivery, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. And on March 13, 2020 he was charged with maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and trafficking.

34-year-old Brandi Nichole Hardin of Stanley was indicted on four separate offenses. The first occurred on September 16, 2019 and the second on September 20, 2019. She was indicted on two counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, sell and deliver oxycodone, and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. She was also indicted in connection with an incident on October 11, 2019 for trafficking by transportation and by possession and trafficking by sell and by delivery. She was also charged with maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. She was also indicted on a separate September 2019 incident that involved sell and delivery of oxycodone, possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.

44-year-old Fred Christian Smith of Iron Station is charged in two separate incidents. On June 10, 2019 and June 28, 2019 Smith is accused of selling meth to an undercover officer. He is charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and sell and delivery of methamphetamine. And 58-year-old David Nixon, Jr. of Lincolnton is charged with sell and deliver crack cocaine.
