56-year-old Robert William Davis of Mabel Street in Catawba was arrested last Thursday (July 23) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He was charged with felony counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and larceny.
According to information released Monday (July 27), on June 21, 2020, Patrol Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff Office responded to a vehicle break-in call on Lookout Dam Road. When deputies arrived, they determined that a window of the victim’s vehicle was broken and a purse was stolen. Investigators interviewed witnesses in the area, who gave a description of a possible suspect vehicle that was spotted in the area just prior to the break-in.
During the course of the investigation, detectives received information on a North Carolina Registration Plate Number, which belonged to the possible suspect. They ran the tag number through the Vehicle Registration Database and it came back to Robert William Davis from Catawba County.
Detectives verified that Davis was driving the vehicle at the time of the break-in. Based on all of the evidence gathered through this investigation, Investigators obtained felony arrest warrants against Davis.
Last Thursday, Davis was seen driving on Lookout Dam Road in a red Dodge Ram truck. Deputies ran the plate and confirmed it was the suspect. Deputies stopped Davis, and arrested him without incident. His bond was set at $25,000 secured. Davis was not listed as an inmate in Iredell County today (July 28). His next District Court date is August 10.
