A Florida resident was killed in a crash Tuesday (September 12) in Catawba County. The deceased is 19-year-old Robert Allen Heath III of Tavares, Florida.

On Tuesday at approximately 3:00 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to NC 150 near Beaver Boulevard. A 2000 Honda Civic traveling west on NC 150, drove off the right side of the road, drove back onto the roadway, crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the road, overturned, and came to rest on its roof.
The driver of the Civic, Robert Allen Heath III passed away as a result of his injuries at the scene.

Heath was not restrained by a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were not contributing circumstances in the collision. During the on-scene investigation, NC 150 was partially closed in the area for one hour.
