Catawba County Commissioners met in regular session Monday (May 16).
County Manager Mick Berry presented the Recommended Fiscal Year 2022-23 County Budget. The budget, which totals $306,084,992, maintains the current $.575 tax rate. Up next, on May 25, the Board of Commissioners will hold hearings with departments, schools and outside agencies. On June 2, the board will hold a public hearing, and adoption is scheduled for June 6.
Also Monday night, a public hearing was held to consider an application to rezone 4.7 acres of property from R-20 Residential to Planned Development. The board approved the item. In addition, a public hearing was held to consider a favorable recommendation in support of text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance related to the Watershed Protection District. Commissioners approved this item as well.
The board also approved all three items on the consent agenda.
