The Catawba County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday night (September 7). Requests were made for public hearings to be held to consider the submission of a grant for the enhanced mobility of seniors and individuals with disabilities to the North Carolina Department of Transportation and to consider the River Run Subdivision Street Improvement Project, and adopt the Final Assessment Resolution for the project. The board approved the scheduling of the public hearings.
Commissioners approved four consent agenda items including the appropriation of $2.4 million in state agreement addenda funds and the approval of 50 FTEs to ensure every public school has a School Health Assistant. The consent agenda also included a recommendation from the Policy and Public Works Subcommittee for an Award Agreement to LaBella Associates for Solid Waste Ground Water Quality Monitoring Compliance & Reporting and to authorize the County Manager to execute Agreement in amount of $103K for year one of an initial three-year term.
