Catawba County Commissioners met in regular session Monday night (February 15).
Deputy County Manager Mary Furtado delivered a presentation about Medicaid Transformation which is mandated by the North Carolina General Assembly and will go into effect on July 1, 2021.
The consent agenda was approved. Among the items on the consent agenda, the Finance and Personnel Subcommittee recommended that the board adopt a resolution authorizing the issuance of the Series 2021 Bonds for Catawba Valley Medical Center to finance all or a portion of the costs for an expansion and renovation project.
Also Monday night, the Finance Department presented the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Audit/Financial Report. The Board voted to approve the report. The Board recognized the retirement of Clerk to the Board Barbara Morris and appointed Karina Zamora to serve as Clerk effective March 1. A resolution was approved recognizing Morris for her service.
The Deputy County attorney presented a petition from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the abandonment of Punch Loop Road in Conover. The board approved the petition.
