Catawba County Commissioners met in regular session Monday (December 6). The board elected Randy Isenhower as Board Chair and Barbara Beatty as Vice-Chair. Other organizational appointments were also made.
Commissioners conducted a public hearing to consider the Fox Chase Subdivision street improvement project with a request from staff to adopt the final assessment resolution for the project. The item was approved. Commissioners approved all three consent agenda items. During the Attorneys Report, approval was requested for a lease with Duke Energy at Mountain Creek Park. The board approved this item.
Hickory City Council met in regular session Tuesday (December 7). Minutes, second readings, and the consent agenda were approved. Members were also appointed to boards and commissions.
Alderman Tony Wood was appointed as Mayor Pro Tempore. John Crone was appointed as City Attorney. A Business. Well Crafted. Award was presented to Shurtape during Tuesday’s Hickory City Council session. In addition, the annual audit was presented by Kari Dunlap with Martin Starnes & Associates.
