Catawba County Commissioners, Hickory City Council Meet In Regular Session
The Catawba County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday (March 20). A public hearing was held to discuss the planned financing of school construction projects for Maiden Elementary and Newton-Conover High School. The adoption of the resolution approving the installment financing and the authorization of the County Manager to execute any documents associated with the planned financing was also part of the hearing. The board approved these items.
Five consent agenda items were presented to the board. Among those items were multiple requests from the Finance and Personnel Subcommittee including one to authorize the transfer of $290K in planned contingency funds to cover fuel expenses in various county departments. Commissioners approved all five consent agenda items.
Also during Monday’s Catawba County Board of Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Randy Isenhower presented a proclamation to EDC President Scott Millar in recognition of his receipt of the inaugural Lifetime Service Award from the NC Economic Development Association.
Hickory City Council met in regular session Tuesday (March 21). Minutes, second readings, and the consent agenda were unanimously approved. Executive Assistant Manager Yaidee Fox presented an update on the bond projects. Business Services Manager Dave Leonetti presented a report on the economic impact of the bond projects to date.
