The Catawba County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday (April 19).
A public hearing was held for commissioners to consider an application submitted by Northstate Development, LLC to rezone approximately 16.4 acres from R-20 Residential and Highway Commercial to Planned Development (PD) district for an apartment home community. The board approved the item with modifications.
Planning & Parks staff requested that the board authorize the transfer of $220,000 into the existing Mountain Creek Park capital project to fund minor amenity enhancements within the existing project design. The item was approved by the board.
The consent agenda, which included five items, was approved. Among those items the Policy and Public Works Subcommittee requested that the board authorize the East Maiden Road-Highway 150 Gravity Sewer Project. As part of this item, an agreement was approved with Highfill Infrastructure Engineering, P.C. for engineering and design of the project in the amount of $115,700.
