Caldwell Softball Drops Road Doubleheader to Surry
Caldwell Community College softball fell to Surry Community College in both games of a doubleheader Friday on the road, losing 1-0 in game one and 5-1 in game two.
The pitchers dual in game one saw both teams allow only three hits. Despite the loss, Isabelle Curry twirled a masterful game, allowing three hits and the one run, while striking out seven and allowing only two walks. She pitched to 22 batters.
Regan Winkler, Ashley Antonio and Sydney Ferguson were the only Cobras to record a hit.
In game two, the Cobras would have five hits in the contest, two of which came off the bat of Kenly Jackson. Kaylee Redwine scored the lone run for the Cobras.
Kylie Reid took the loss in the circle, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out two and walking two.
The Cobras are 16-14 overall, 0-2 in Region X, Division 2 play. They face Camp Community College in a doubleheader Sunday beginning at 12 noon.
