The Caldwell Community College men’s basketball team defeated USC-Salkehatchie, 108-99 in overtime Thursday night in the Region X, Division 1 Tournament Semifinals. Down by six at the half, the Cobras would rally to tie it in regulation and then score 20 points in the extra period to take the win.

Other scorers for the Cobras were Myles Hamilton with eight, Amari Thomas scoring six, and both Justin Hodges and Amarie Elijah-Kirby each added three.

Caldwell improves to 10-6 on the season. The Cobras will face #1 seed Brunswick in the Region 10 Division One Championship game on Saturday at 2PM at Brunswick Community College. The two teams split their two meetings earlier this season, with Caldwell winning 87-79 at Brunswick on Feb. 27 while the Dolphins won 108-98 at Caldwell on March 20.

This will be Caldwell’s second straight appearance in the region 10 championship game. They fell in the 2020 title game to USC-Salk by a score of 92-89.
