Caldwell County Man Charged With Firearm Offense In Catawba County

41-year-old Michael Joseph Ford of Southern Pine Lane in Hudson was arrested Sunday (December 31) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon. Ford is a felon as a result of convictions dating back to 2004 in multiple counties.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Ford has been convicted of felony charges in Caldwell, Buncombe, McDowell, and Cherokee Counties. The charges include breaking & entering, larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, and receiving a stolen vehicle. His most recent conviction was in July, 2021 in Caldwell County for felony breaking & entering.

Following Sunday’s arrest, Ford was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under no bond. He remained in jail, still being held without bond, as of earlier today (January 2). A District Court appearance was scheduled today.
