Caldwell Community College Volleyball Splits Tri-Match

Caldwell Community College volleyball went to Cedar Bluff, Virginia to compete in a tri-meet with Walters State Community College and Southwest Virginia Community College on Saturday.

The Cobras fell to Walters State, 3-0 to suffer their first loss of the season. Laney Craig, a Fred T. Foard grad, and Catherine Pate each had six kills for the Cobras. Emily Ramirez had 22 digs to lead the defensive effort for the Cobras. Caldwell lost the sets, 25-21, 25-22, and 25-13.

In the nightcap against Southwest Virginia Community College, the Cobras won 3-1. Southwest Virginia won the first set 28-26, before the Cobras took three straight, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23. Pate and Craig once again led the Cobras with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Ramirez had 19 digs while Josie Chappell had 10 digs. Chappell also had three service aces.

The Cobras are 2-1 on the season. They will face USC-Lancaster on the road Wednesday.
