Caldwell Community College Volleyball 13 Match Winning Streak Snapped
In a match-up of division leaders in Region 10, Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute fell in five sets at Spartanburg Methodist College on Wednesday night in Spartanburg, SC.
Spartanburg Methodist won the first set 25-20, before Caldwell took sets two (25-23) and three (25-22). The Pioneers dominated sets four (25-12) and five (15-4) to secure the victory.
Coming into Wednesday’s match Caldwell was ranked sixth in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division-Three poll. The loss to Spartanburg Methodist snaps a 13-match winning streak for the Cobras, who had not loss since August 23 at USC-Lancaster.
Spartanburg Methodist leads the Region 10 Division-One standings. The Pioneers improved to 11-9 overall, including a 6-0 record in Region 10 Division-One matches.
Caldwell’s record stands at 15-3 overall with a 3-0 record in Region 10 Division-Three. Of Caldwell’s three losses this season, all have been to NJCAA Division-One teams.
Caldwell returns to action on Friday, as they travel to Region 10 Division-One USC-Union for a 6PM match. They return to action in Hudson next Tuesday against Region 10 Division-Two opponent Davidson-Davie Community College at 6PM.
