Caldwell Community College Softball Sweeps Doubleheader Over Guilford College JV’s

After a nearly two-week layoff due to rainouts and cancellations, Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute’s softball team returned to action on Thursday, sweeping a doubleheader in Greensboro against Guilford College JV, winning 8-0 and 9-1.

In game one, Carlee Tart drove in four runs on one hit with an inside the park grand slam as part of a five run, second inning. Skylar Banks, Maggie Bullard, and Taryn Estes each collected a RBI. Belle Curry picked up the win in the circle, going four innings and striking out five while allowing only one hit in the 8-0 victory.

In game two, Logan Harris had a two-run homerun to help lead the Cobras to a 9-1 victory. Kasey Triplett also picked up two RBI. Aleah Ikard, making her first appearance of the year, had an RBI triple. Harris was credited for the win in the circle, pitching four innings and allowing one run off one hit while striking out three.

Caldwell improved to 14-12 overall and will return to action on Wednesday, hosting Surry Community College in a doubleheader at 3PM.
