The Caldwell Community College baseball team won scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth and won 9-5 over Thomas Nelson Community College at home on Sunday.
Bradley Johnson picked up the win for the Cobras on the mound. He pitched an ining, allowed two hits, two runs and walked two. Starting pitcher Hayden Setzer picked up the no decision despite throwing seven innings, allowing only three hits, three runs, two of which were earned and walking one. He struck out 11 batters.
Offensively, Jermie Greene went 1-4 with 3 RBI and a double. Mason Lyda was 1-4 with an RBI single, and a run scored. John Melton was 1-3 with a RBI single, 2 BB, and a run. Mike Logan went 1-3, single, 2 BB, and two runs. Darien Farley was 2-4, 2 singles, 1 SB, 1 BB, and scored twice. Noah Love went 2-5, 2 singles, 1 SB.
Cobras have won 6 in a row and 12 of their last 13. Cobras are also 13-1 at home.
The Cobras are 17-7 overall, 7-0 in Region X play. They face Surry CC Saturday.
