Burke County Residents Arrested Following Seizure Of Meth, Guns

46-year-old Brandon Shane Lowdermilk of Sweet Water Drive and 34-year-old Ashley Marie Parker-Dearstone of Piney Road, both from Morganton, were arrested Friday (February 9) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. Both suspects are charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.

Lowdermilk is additionally charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, trafficking meth, and possession with intent to sell and deliver meth. Parker-Dearstone is also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer.

On Friday, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office and Hickory Police Department conducted a search at an address on Sweet Water Drive in Morganton following numerous complaints in the community. Approximately 61 grams of meth, two guns, and U.S. currency were seized from the residence. Lowdermilk and Parker-Dearstone were taken into custody following the search.

Lowdermilk was placed in the Burke County Jail under a $152,500 secured bond. Parker-Dearstone was placed in that same facility under a $20,000 secured bond. Both suspects remained in jail as of earlier today (February 13). They were both scheduled to appear in District Court Monday (February 12).
