At about 2:30 this morning (July 28), 42-year-old Dennis James Danner, Jr. of Causby Drive in Morganton turned himself in to authorities at the Burke County Jail.

Danner was released from jail Monday afternoon (July 24) after he was mistaken for another inmate with a similar name. The error was discovered during an inmate check early Tuesday morning. Danner was in jail on three misdemeanor counts of communicating threats and two misdemeanor probation violations.

After turning himself in today, Danner posted a $3,500 secured bond and was released. He’ll appear in District Court on August 7 in Morganton.
