Early this morning (May 30) just after 1:40 a.m., crews responded to a structure fire involving a detached garage in the Lovelady area. Firefighters with Lovelady Fire Rescue arrived to find the building heavily involved in flames.

On-duty part-time personnel, volunteers, and automatic aid agencies quickly coordinated an aggressive attack. An engine crew stretched a line and was able to bring the fire under control before it spread.

Mutual aid from Valdese Fire Department, Drexel Fire Department, and Triple Community Fire Department assisted on scene.

Officials say the fast response prevented any damage to nearby structures. No injuries were reported.
