Buncombe County Residents Charged With Larceny Offenses In Burke County

27-year-old Adam Nicholas Wood and 27-year-old Carahlynn Jordon Thomas, both of Buncombe County, Wood from Alexander and Thomas from Weaverville, were arrested Wednesday (September 27) by Morganton Public Safety Officers.

Wood is charged with three felony counts apiece of larceny, possession, or receiving goods from a construction site and larceny by destroying antitheft device, two misdemeanor counts of probation violation, along with single misdemeanor counts of larceny of property, receiving or possessing stolen goods and resist, delay, or obstruct a public officer.

Thomas is charged with felony counts of breaking & entering, larceny after breaking & entering, larceny, possession, or receiving goods from a construction site, larceny by destroying antitheft device, possession of stolen goods, and possession of schedule II controlled substance. She’s also charged with misdemeanor resist, delay or obstruct a public officer.

The suspects were arrested after a Public Safety Officer responded to an address on Burkemont Avenue in Morganton shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday. The suspects were brought to the Burke County Jail. While conducting a bag check at the jail, two sticky notes were found in the purse belonging to Thomas. The notes contained a white powdery substance that was field tested positive for fentanyl.

Both suspects were placed in the Burke County Jail, Wood under $40,000 secured bond, Thomas under $25,000 secured bond. They both remained in jail as of earlier today (September 29). They’re both scheduled to appear in District Court October 16.
