50-year-old Marc Alan McCorkle of Lincolnton was arrested Wednesday (July 12) by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives recovered more than $2,400 in property stolen from a Hidden Valley Lane residence in Lincolnton. Detectives were assigned the case on Monday (July 10) and quickly developed McCorkle as the suspect in the case. Officers learned that the suspect had allegedly stolen property from the victim on a prior occasion.

Detectives recovered the stolen goods from a July 7, 2023 incident including a $1,400 set of golf clubs and returned the items to the victim. McCorkle was arrested by patrol deputies during the early morning hours of July 12, 2023. He was initially placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond. As of earlier today (July 13) McCorkle was being held in jail under $40,000 secured bond. His next District Court date is August 1.
