20-year-old Cameron Jaheim Watts of Boone was arrested by Watauga County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with statutory rape of a child 15-years-old or younger. The charge was filed July 11.

According to court documents, Watts allegedly “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously did engage in” intercourse with a minor who was, at the time of the offense, 15 years of age or younger. The court documents state that “the defendant was at least 12 years old.” The incident allegedly took place on June 29.

Following the arrest, Watts was incarcerated in the Watauga County Detention Center under $1,000,000 secured bond. A District Court date is scheduled for July 26.
