At about 5:20 p.m. Saturday (January 21), Hickory Police responded to a death case at the Walmart store on Highway 70 S.E. in Hickory. The deceased was found in his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.

The deceased has been identified as a 38-year-old male from Newland. The cause of death is a suspected drug overdose.

Hickory Police are investigating.
