Bodies Found By Authorities During Response To Fire (Updated With Information Regarding Discovery Of Third Body, 11:01 a.m., 7/29/21)

Three bodies were found while a fire was being fought earlier this week. On Tuesday (July 27) at approximately 9:00 p.m., Iredell County Emergency Communications received a 911 call about a house fire on Loram Drive in Troutman. The Troutman Fire Department responded with other agencies to Loram Drive. Fire Fighters on arrival found a home on fire, fully involved.

Deputies from the Iredell County Sheriff’s office were called to assist when an adult son from the home on Loram Drive arrived at his grandmother’s house in Mooresville. Soon after Detectives responded to both scenes and began the investigation.

Based on interviews and initial information received Detectives determined that three other people were last known to be in the home on fire. Information was gathered indicating that in the hours before the fire the family had been involved in a domestic situation that prompted the one son to leave.

Two bodies were initially found by authorities. The search of the fire scene continued Wednesday (July 28). Late in the afternoon a third body was discovered along with additional evidence connected to the case. The cause of death or identities had not been determined nor had the cause of the fire as of earlier today (July 29).

This is a two part investigation, the cause and origin of the fire together with a death investigation. Both the fire and deaths are being treated as suspicious and the investigation is continuing. Autopsies will be conducted to determine the identity of the victims and cause of death.
