Beverly Drive Closure Postponed; West End Work Planned October 5
STATESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — Beverly Drive remains open after equipment issues delayed a storm pipe replacement, according to an updated City of Statesville notice.
The work near 421 Beverly Drive is now planned to begin Monday, October 5.
The road will remain open to through traffic between Cameron Drive and Kenmore Avenue until work begins.
The updated notice does not provide a revised completion date.
Separately, West End Avenue is tentatively scheduled to close between North Meeting Street and Kelly Street October 5, from 8 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m.
Crews plan to remove a declining red maple in Fourth Creek Cemetery, where falling limbs and the tree’s proximity to grave markers and overhead utility lines pose safety concerns.
Drivers can use Meeting Street and West Broad Street to reach West End Avenue via Kelly Street or Mulberry Street.
