TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. (WACB) – A man listed as a registered sex-offender has been arrested on Alexander County. 56-year-old Eric Rowland Tappan, Jr. of West Jay Drive in Taylorsville, was taken into custody Tuesday (July 28). He was served with three warrants for failing to notify law enforcement of an address change as a registered-sex offender. Following the arrest, Tappan was placed in the Alexander County Jail under a secured bond of $25,000.

According to our news partner WACB, in 1994, Tappan was convicted in New Jersey of felony aggravated sexual-assault. Court records indicated the victim was age-one or younger. He served 18 years in prison.
