Arrest Made In Connection To Incident In Which Deputy Was Struck With Vehicle
25-year-old Kara Ann Johnson of Denver Heights Circle in Denver, N.C. was arrested today (February 21) on a charge filed by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. She’s charged with attempted murder.
The charge is in connection to an incident in which a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy was injured when he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of NC Hwy 73 and NC Hwy 16. Officers were responding to a disturbance involving two women who were fighting in the middle of the road.
When the deputy arrived on the scene, one of the women got back into their vehicle and fled the scene, and she allegedly intentionally struck the deputy, who was in the median. The suspect returned back to the scene and reportedly attempted to strike the officer again with the vehicle. The deputy sustained severe scalp lacerations and was transported to Atrium Main in Charlotte where he was treated and released.

The suspect was identified and arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in Charlotte. Johnson was returned to Lincoln County where she was charged with attempted murder. She was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center without bond. No court date was listed.
