Armed Robbery Suspect Sought By Authorities
Authorities in Catawba County are seeking assistance in identifying an armed robbery suspect. Friday (February 24) at approximately 10:00 p.m. deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Propst Superette convenience store at Hwy 10 East and Mt Olive Church Road. The clerk reported that a person, dressed in all black, broke out the glass to the stores front entrance and entered just after closing time.
This person, armed with a handgun, ordered the clerk to give them the stores money. This person then fled from the store and was last seen running towards Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. The clerk described the suspect as an African American male dressed in all black. The suspect was also wearing gloves.
The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating this case and is asking for anyone with information or knowledge this crime to contact investigators at 828-464-3112.
