App’s Wilson-Cook Wins Sun Belt Weekly Award for Third Time
For a third time this season, App State senior Oliver Wilson-Cook has earned Sun Belt Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors, the league announced Wednesday.
Wilson-Cook set pace for the Mountaineers at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday in Louisville, Ky. The Staunton, Va. native finished 35th overall with an 8K personal best of 24:22.9. His previous 8K personal best of 24:23.1, was set at last season’s Live in Lou Cross Country Classic. On Saturday, he also helped the Mountaineers to a 10th place team finish.
Wilson-Cook earned SBC Men’s Runner of the Week recognition on Sept. 20 for his performance at the Covered Bridge Open as well as on Sept. 6 for his performance at the Firetower Project Run this fall.
