App’s Stanley Earns All-Tournament Honors

App’s Stanley Earns All-Tournament Honors

App State women’s basketball senior guard Pre Stanley (Rockledge, Fla./Rockledge) was named to the All-Sun Belt Tournament team.

Stanley is named to the all-tournament team for the second time in the last three seasons following a stellar run to the semifinals.

App State picked up wins over ULM and a quarterfinal victory against UTA. The Rockledge, Fla., native led the team in scoring with an average of 20 points over three games. She also grabbed seven rebounds per game and three assists, while she finished fourth in scoring in the tournament.

The Apps’ leading scorer dropped back-to-back 20-point performances, highlighted by an impressive outing of 29 points and 14 rebounds in the narrow loss to No. 1 seed Troy. Stanley tied a career-high in points and pulled down a personal best in rebounds for her first-career double-double.

She finished the season averaging a personal-high 15.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, shot 45.5 percent from the field, 47.5 percent from deep and 77.7 percent from the charity stripe. Her 1,555 career points put her at fifth all-time in program history in points scored.

App State ended the year with a second winning season in the past three years, posted the fourth-most Sun Belt wins and won seven of its last nine games down the stretch.
