Appalachian State Women’s Tennis Pulls Out Another Win

App State Tennis defeated ULM by way of a 5-2 victory on Saturday. The Mountaineers took five of the six obtainable singles points to claim its ninth win of the season, moving to 3-1 in Sun Belt Conference matches.

The Warhawks (1-10, 0-3 SBC) took the doubles point from the Mountaineers (9-5, 3-1 SBC) to take an early 1-0 lead. App State’s pairing of Olwyn Ryan-Bovey and Naledi Manyube garnered their first win as the No. 1 doubles tandem over ULM’s Alice Klinteby/Tamara Buchmann, 6-2.

The Mountaineers’ ramped things up in singles play winning five total points to secure the win. Savannah Dada-Mascoll continued her dominance as the No. 1 singles player, adding a 6-2, 6-1 victory over ULM’s Alice Klinteby on Court 1 to extend her impressive winning streak to 11. Graduate student Maggie Pate defeated Giovanna Pereira, 6-3, 6-0, for her ninth singles win on the 2024 campaign. App State secured wins on Courts 4, 5 and 6 to clinch its third consecutive conference win.

The Mountaineers will travel to Arkansas State (7-7, 1-2 SBC) on Sunday. The Red Wolves dropped their last match against Marshall 5-2 on Saturday. App State’s match with Arkansas State is slated for an 11 a.m. start and live stats will be provided on appstatesports.com.
