Highlighted by a second-round team score of 295 at the Elon Invitational — matching the best round App State Women’s Golf had posted in the previous three seasons — the Mountaineers concluded their first fall event under the direction of head coach Brittany Dabule on Tuesday.

App State placed 10th in the 15-team field at 301-295-305—901. After opening the event with a pair of 1-over rounds, Layla Meric finished as the Mountaineers’ top performer by tying for 19th place with a career-low total of 72-72-75—219. That was good for 6 over in the 54-hole event.

Ekaterina Prokhorova and Hannah Wang also shot 1-over 72s during a second round in which the Mountaineers posted an 11-over total as a team. The team total of 295 matched the season-low score from the Aggie Invitational in the fall of the 2022-23 season.

Prokhorova (tie for 36th) was App State’s second-highest finisher at 77-72-75—224, and Wang (tie for 42nd) followed with a 74-72-80—226. Makena Dubois contributed the team score Tuesday with a final-round 77 as part of her 80-79-77—236 collegiate debut, while Jacquelyn Taylor shot 78-83-78—239. Playing as an individual, Braelyn Pippin shot 79-81-77—237.

Radford won the event by four strokes over UNCG, and Radford’s Macy Johnson was the medalist at 73-70-68—211 (2 under).
