Appalachian State Field Hockey Promote Dinsmore to Assistant Head Coach

App State field hockey has promoted Emily Dinsmore to assistant head coach, head coach Meghan Dawson announced Tuesday.

“I am so excited for this recognition of Emily. She has given countless hours to our program in her career here at App State,” Dawson said. “She has been a vital part of our success and has worked extremely hard to develop our student-athletes on and off the field.

“I am proud to continue to work alongside her each and every day. I am excited to see how we continue to develop and grow the App State field hockey program and push it to new heights!”

Dinsmore has been a part of Dawson’s coaching staff for the last five seasons. In 2019, she helped lead App State to its first winning season since 2003.

In 2021, the Mountaineers defeated No. 24 James Madison to earn the first win over a ranked opponent in program history.

“I am honored and humbled to continue working alongside Meg Dawson and the amazing administration here at App State,” Dinsmore said. “I would like to thank God for this opportunity to mentor and train young student-athletes to reach their full potential on and off the field and I am excited to see what the future holds for our program.”
