App State’s Dada-Mascoll Named Sun Belt First Team All-Conference for Women’s Tennis

App State freshman phenom Savannah Dada-Mascoll has been named to the All-Sun Belt first team in singles ahead of this week’s women’s tennis conference tournament in Peachtree City, Ga.

In her first collegiate season by way of Yorkshire, England, Dada-Mascoll burst onto the scene with a 13-3 overall singles record, including an 8-2 mark against Sun Belt opponents. She has spent most of the season at the No. 2 spot in App State’s lineup behind senior Helena Jansen, who earned singles first-team honors last year.

Players were named all-conference if they ranked top 125 in the ITA rankings or if they were voted in by the league’s head coaches.

Dada-Mascoll helped App State achieve its best regular season record since 2019 with a 12-7 overall record and 8-3 league mark that was good for a tie for third place in the Sun Belt standings.

The fifth-seeded Mountaineers will open Sun Belt Tournament play Wednesday against 12th-seeded Georgia State (2-18, 2-9 SBC) at 9:30 a.m. (moved up two hours from the original start time due to inclement weather). The winner advances to play the winner between No. 4 Georgia Southern and No. 13 Southern Miss in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

App State took down Georgia State 4-0 when the two teams met in Atlanta on March 26.
