App State Women’s Tennis Falls to South Alabama

App State is now 3-7 and 2-2 in league action while South Alabama improves to 8-4 and 3-0 in the conference.

Like Saturday, the Mountaineers were down a player that led to the Jaguars needing only one doubles victory and two singles wins. USA won four of the five matches in singles in straight sets.

Helena Jansen (Girona, Spain/Tyler JC) increased her win streak to five matches and improved to 6-3 on the year in singles to highlight the day for App State.

Jansen defeated Milka Pasanen in a come-from-behind three-set victory. Jansen fell in the first frame, 7-6 (8) before claiming the next two sets, highlighted by a 12-10 (1-0) triumph in the final set as the No. 3 in the lineup.

The Apps will take a break from conference play when they travel to Radford, Va. to face Radford on Thursday at 2 p.m.
