Five members of the App State women’s golf team concluded the final round play at the Golfweek Caledonia Amateur Tuesday afternoon.
The Caledonia Amateur was an outside competition and will not be counted as one of App State’s 2020-21 countable events. The three-day amateur event, which kicked off on Sunday, was played at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, a par-71, 6,123 yard course.
Senior Carrie Catherine Ganim led all participating Mountaineers with a three-day total of 226. During the second round on Monday, Ganim posted a career-low round of 69 with four total birdies. She went on to finish out the event with a final round of 76.
Senior Abby Bolt shot a consistent 77 each day for a final tournament total of 231.
Fifth-year senior Melany Chong matched her best round of the competition on Tuesday with a 78, to give herself a final score of 237.
Both Mogie Adamchik and Kayla Ward improved each round of play, eliminating five strokes from round one to that of round two, respectively. Adamchik finished with a three-day total of 243 while Ward closed with a 250.
The Black and Gold will be back on the links come Oct. 26 as the Mountaineers are scheduled to take part in the Terrier Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford, in Spartanburg, S.C. The current times provide a fluid situation meaning that the 2020 fall schedule is subject to change.
