App State Women’s Golf Finish Ninth at Low Country Intercollegiate

App State Women’s Golf surged up the team standings with a strong second round before finishing ninth in the 16-team field Sunday at the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford.

The Mountaineers posted an 81-over total of 313-308-324—945, with East Tennessee State taking first place at 38 over.

With a 20-over total of 236 (75-78-83), Jacquelyn Taylor tied for 31st overall after entering the final round in a tie for 14th place. Hannah Wang had a team-best 77 in the final round and tied for 36th place at 21 over (77-83-77—237).

The Mountaineers moved from seventh to fourth after two rounds thanks to scoring rounds from Ona Lukes (2-over 74), Layla Meric (77), Taylor (78) and Makena Dubois (79). Lukes had 16 pars in a round that tied for the fourth-lowest score that day.

Taylor and Wang led App State in Round 1 with scores of 75 and 77, respectively.
