App State Women’s Cross Country Competes at USC-Upstate Invitational

The App State women’s cross country team got a preview of the NCAA Southeast Regional course on Saturday as it competed at the USC-Upstate Invitational. The Mountaineers finished 11th overall in the team standings with 268 points.

Senior Jasmine Donohue was the first Mountaineer to cross the finish line, clocking a 5K time of 17:42.5 to place 13th individually. Her time was a mere two seconds from her 5K personal best of 17:40.3, which was set at the 2021 Firetower Project Run. Freshman Rhys Ammon was next to cross the finish line, stopping the clock at 18:28.0 (PR) to round out the top-40. Junior Lana Farris recorded a personal best of 18:50.3, while fellow junior Karsyn Kane stopped the clock at 18:57.3, both earning spots amid the top-75.

The men’s and women’s teams will compete in the Sun Belt Championships on Oct. 28 in Foley, Ala. The women’s 5K is set for 11:02 ET (10:02 CT) with the men’s 8K to follow at 12 p.m. ET (11 a.m. CT). The SBC Championships will be available to stream on ESPN+.
