McLaurin competed at Grambling State during her undergraduate career, where she was named MACCC Player of the Year and was a two-time MACCC First Team All-Conference selection. She was also named to the NJCAA All-Region Team. In two seasons with the Lady Tigers, McLaurin appeared in 46 games and made 12 starts. The Soso, MS native also tallied 77 rebounds, 22 steals, and 16 assists while at Grambling State.
McLaurin intends on pursuing an MBA in business while at App State.
Why McLaurin Chose App State: “I chose App State because the staff prioritizes their players in all aspects. Everyone I met treated me like family and expressed how they would contribute to my success not only on the court but in life.”
Elderkin on McLaurin: “We are excited to welcome Jurnee McLaurin to our team. It was apparent during our initial conversations with her and her family that she is committed to excellence on the court and in the classroom. Her ability to shoot the three and defend multiple positions will add the depth we need to our backcourt.”
McLaurin joins transfers Samantha LaFon, J’Mani Ingram, and Rylan Moffitt, as well as true freshmen Lexi Bugajski and MaKenzie Drout as part of the Mountaineers’ 2023-24 signing class.
