App State Track and Field Garners Five All-Conference Nods

Five Mountaineers earned All-Conference honors for their performances at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, the league announced Thursday.

Freshmen Rhys Ammon and Nicole Wells, sophomore Addison Ollendick-Smith, and senior Jasmine Donohue collected second-team accolades after finishing second in the women’s distance medley relay (DMR) with a time of 11:47.73. The quartet’s time was a mere 10 seconds from the program record, 11:37.28, which was set in 1999.

Graduate student Ashlee Osaji garnered third-team honors after landing third in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 12.43m (40′ 9.5″). Osaji also rounded out the top-five in the women’s long jump with a leap of 5.93m (19′ 5.5″) at the SBC Indoor Championships.

The Mountaineers will open the outdoor track & field season at the Lenoir-Rhyne Open on March 15-16 in Hickory, N.C.
