App State To Host Virtual Fan Fest August 20th

App State Athletics will celebrate the beginning of the 2020-21 athletic calendar with Virtual Fan Fest, presented by Wake Forest Baptist Health, on Thursday, August 20. Due to the implications of COVID-19, this event will be streamed on the App State Athletics Facebook page, beginning at 7 p.m. and will take the place of the annual App State Fan Fest.

The event will allow fans to hear from select student-athletes and head football coach Shawn Clark, and be the first to see the exclusive digital release of sport posters.

There will also be a band performance by the Marching Mountaineers and a special discount code for App State merchandise.

Young Mountaineer fans will have the opportunity to submit questions to fall sport student-athletes: Tess Cairney (women’s soccer), Izzy Evely (women’s cross country), Thomas Hennigan (football), Lexi Kohut (volleyball), Grace Morrison (volleyball), Kenzie Porter (cheerleading), Veerle Van Heertum (field hockey) and Marcus Williams Jr. (football) . If your child would like to ask a question of any of the student-athletes, please submit a video with your App State fan stating their age, grade level and hometown, followed by their question(s) to jmkc@appstate.edu by Monday, August 17.

In 2019, App State’s fall teams achieved many milestones while proudly sporting the Black and Gold. Along with the top-20 nationally ranked football team winning its fourth Sun Belt Conference Championship and a fifth straight bowl game, the men’s cross country team captured its second Sun Belt championship in the last three years.
