App State Men’s Golf Finish 10th, Tamardi Earns Top 10 Individual

Timothius Tirto Tamardi and Ryan Marter had the best showings among App State men’s golfers at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate held Saturday and Sunday.

Tamardi tied for eighth place with a 5-under total (67-70-71—208) as an individual, and Marter led App State’s team by tying for 15th at 3 under (72-69-69—210).

Tamardi was fifth after a 36-hole opening day, followed by Colin Browning in a tie for 16th place thanks to an opening-round 67 and Marter in a tie for 26th. Lukas Jónssón also had a strong first round with a 68.

Those results helped App State place 10th in the 15-team field with an 858 total (285-285-288). Ranked 27th nationally, Charlotte won the team title by one stroke over 21st-ranked Ole Miss via a 24-under total, and Ole Miss’ Jackson Suber (11-under total) won the individual title by one stroke over Charlotte’s Dongjin Park.

Browning tied for 42nd while competing individually. Jake Lane, Sverrir Haraldsson and Justin Morgan all finished at 5 over through 54 holes, with no round over 74 from either of those three golfers. Haraldsson shot a 71 in the second round. Addison Beam had a pair of 72s while also competing as an individual.
