App State Men’s Basketball Gets Revised Schedule from Sun Belt Conference

The Sun Belt Conference has announced an updated conference schedule for the upcoming 2020-21 men’s basketball season.

App State was still play 18 conference contests; however, the conference will now be broken down into divisional play. The Mountaineers will now only play Sun Belt East Division opponents in a Friday-Saturday format.

The Sun Belt slate will now tip on Jan. 1 as the Mountaineers welcome Troy to the Holmes Center. App State will also battle the Trojans in Boone on Jan. 2.

The Mountaineers continue play at home the following weekend, welcoming Georgia Southern to the High Country on Jan. 8 and Jan. 9.

App State hits the road for a trip to Mobile to face South Alabama on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16, before returning back to the Holmes Center to face Georgia State on Jan. 22 and Jan. 23.

The Black and Gold then play five of its next six contests on the road. First, App State will travel to take on Troy on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30, followed by a trip to play at Georgia State on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6. The Mountaineers then host Coastal Carolina on Feb. 11, with a return trip to Conway slated for Feb. 13.

App State plays its final two home games of the regular season on Feb. 19 and Feb. 20 against South Alabama. The Mountaineers then conclude the regular season on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 at Georgia Southern.

The Sun Belt Tournament tips in Pensacola, Florida on March 5 and runs through March 8. The top two finishers in each division will earn a bye. First round games will feature cross division matchups (i.e. No. 3 East vs. No. 6 West). Quarterfinals are set for March 6, semifinals on March 7 and the tournament championship on March 8.

Times of all contests will be announced at a later date.

Information regarding season and single game tickets will be released at a later date.
