App State Football Receives Two All-American Honors From PFF College

The preseason All-America teams from PFF College include two App State standouts in cornerback Shaun Jolly and center Noah Hannon.

Jolly is listed as a third-team pick, while Hannon was the honorable mention choice at center behind a first-team pick from Oklahoma, the second-team pick from Iowa and the third-team pick from BYU.

Hannon started at Georgia as a true freshman making his App State debut in 2017 and has started all 40 games the Mountaineers have played since he enrolled, helping them go 33-7 with three Sun Belt titles and three bowl wins. In each of those three seasons as a starter, the Mountaineers ranked in top 25 nationally in both rushing yards per game and fewest sacks allowed.

According to PFF College, Hannon ranked as a top-10 center nationally in WAA (wins above average) as a junior and sophomore after being in the top 20 as a freshman. In 2019, the publication assigned Hannon a 81.6 grade in pass protection with no sacks allowed and a 72.5 grade as a run blocker.

Jolly also has been named a preseason All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation (first team), USA TODAY Sports (second team), CBS Sports (second team), Street and Smith (second team), Sporting News (second team) and Phil Steele (fourth team). He intercepted five passes in 2019, tied for the FBS lead with two pick-six touchdowns and added eight PBUs, 45 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
