MORGANTON, N.C. (WHKY) — AMOREM is warning the public about fraudulent information circulating about an alleged memorial service at Morganton City Hall on Sunday, August 23.

The nonprofit hospice and palliative-care provider says it is not hosting, sponsoring or affiliated with the event. AMOREM also did not create or authorize the information being circulated.

Community members should not click any associated links, provide personal or financial information, make payments or donations, or respond to requests connected to the alleged event.

Anyone receiving information about an AMOREM event should verify it through the organization’s official website or by calling its office directly.

AMOREM’s Annual Memorial Service for the Burke Service Area is scheduled for October 3 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Valdese.

The Annual Memorial Service for the Caldwell Service Area will be held November 14 at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Lenoir.

AMOREM says any additional updates will be released directly by the organization.
