51-year-old Robert Lyss Newland III of Taylorsville was arrested Saturday (March 12) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon. Newland was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under $10,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (March 15). A District Court appearance was scheduled today.
