Alexander County Man Charged With String Of Failure To Appear Counts

37-year-old Jeremy Michael Palmer of Taylorsville was arrested Tuesday (September 12) by Probation and Parole Officers. He was taken into custody in Iredell County. There were also warrants for Palmer filed by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and Taylorsville Police Department. According to the Alexander County Police to Citizen website, Palmer faces sixteen counts of failure to appear.

Palmer is charged with failing to appear in court on charges including felony counts of probation violation, possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle,dwelling, or place for controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon. In addition, Palmer allegedly failed to appear on charges including driving while impaired and a number of other traffic related counts.

Palmer is on probation as a result of convictions in August, October, and December of 2022 in Alexander County. He was convicted of multiple counts of driving while license revoked and received probation and a suspended sentence. According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Palmer has convictions dating back to 2004 in Alexander and Catawba Counties on various felony and misdemeanor charges.

Palmer was confined in the Alexander County Detention Center under $565,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (September 13). A court date is scheduled for next Monday, September 18.
