37-year-old Ryan Scott Whitson of Taylorsville was arrested last Thursday (March 10) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged in Catawba County with felony counts of obtain property by false pretense and identity theft. Whitson was jailed in the Alexander County Detention Center under $5,000 bond following the arrest. He is not listed as an inmate in either Alexander or Catawba Counties. A District Court date was scheduled Monday (March 14) in Newton.
