The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash Monday (March 27) in Alexander County that resulted in one person being airlifted. A vehicle and a logging truck collided near the intersection of Highway 127 and US 64-90 west of Taylorsville shortly before 5 p.m.

A vehicle was heavily damaged and the occupant was airlifted with multiple injuries. The driver of the logging truck which overturned down an embankment, was taken by Alexander County EMS to an area hospital with non life-threatening injures. The intersection was closed for nearly two hours.
