Alexander County Commissioner Larry Yoder has been appointed to two steering committees with the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC). Commissioner Yoder is now serving on the NCACC Agriculture and Public Education steering committees through July 31, 2024.
NCACC’s seven steering committees assist its board of directors in setting policy for the association in the areas of agriculture, environment, general government, health and human services, justice and public safety, public education, and tax and finance. Steering committee membership is limited to county commissioners, but county staff and affiliates are welcome to attend meetings as non-member attendees.
Commissioner Yoder also attended the 2023 National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) on November 7-10 in Cleveland, Ohio, along with staff from the Western Piedmont Council of Governments. At the annual training conference, Commissioner Yoder attended sessions on leadership, broadband, recreation, and more.
Mr. Yoder has served two stints as a County Commissioner. He served from 2004 to 2016, then was re-elected in November, 2018 and again in November, 2022.[News release courtesy of Gary Herman, Alexander County Public Information Officer]
